If you’d like to save some money and go at your own pace, there are free self-guided tours available through different apps you can download on your phone. Due to their nocturnal nature, bats are an animal humans rarely interact with. These mysterious creatures live interesting lives hidden from most of us. Thanks to the Sea and Sage Audubon Society, guests of the summer bat walks will enjoy rare insights into the lives of these unique creatures. Along with the naked eye, the tour guides will carry bat radar detectors that will help everyone understand the habits and movements of these nighttime creatures.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 10–12. The tour requires you to wear long pants and a long shirt to protect yourself from insects potentially carrying diseases. Buy your tickets in advance; there are plenty of people who can’t wait to explore the hidden world of bats!
